Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts

Since 1975, the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts has been nationally recognized for its quality presentations and model educational programs. The Center’s artistic mission is to present quality, traditional and contemporary arts, cultural and arts education events; to create opportunities for audiences to have thought-provoking experiences and interactions with artists and speakers; to create events of interest to world-wide audiences; and, to foster creative expression, diversity in thought, and awareness of cultural heritage. On an annual basis, the Center presents more than 400 performing arts events in theater, dance, classical music, world music, jazz, family presentations and festivals.

The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts’ education and outreach programs touch the lives of children of all ages, from every part of the metro Phoenix area. Each year, more than 200 arts education activities involving 40,000 young people from 100 schools and community organizations are presented by the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. Education and outreach programs focus on interactive exchanges between children and artists designed to inspire creativity, foster communication and tolerance, promote cultural exchange, create a positive image of self and community, and enrich the overall education experience.

The Center is managed by the Scottsdale Cultural Council, a private non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that provides arts and cultural services for Scottsdale and surrounding communities.
